Welcome to Your Pet's Happy Place

Intro

Have you ever thought about adopting a dog? Well, I’m the first person to tell you how good of an idea that is. Adopting animals saves lives and brings joy into your life. However, it doesn’t always turn out the way you think it will. I decided to adopt a dog against my parents’ wishes. I figured it would be fine since most people my age have low maintenance dogs. When I went to meet her and decide if I wanted to keep her, the people there told me that she was the perfect family dog. My dog is 6 years old, and her name is Emily Gilmore. I figured she was perfect. I wouldn’t have to potty train her, I could take her with me wherever I went, and they said she was the perfect family dog. The only problem was that she had some medical issues. She had a cherry eye, heart worms, and just had babies and lost almost all of them. They told me she had a couple more treatments for her heart worms and she would be good to go. Little did I know that was just the beginning. Her heart worm symptoms came back and started a whole long list of vet appointments that I talk about in detail here. My goal is to provide you with a side of harsh reality, so you know to not take the step into adoption unless you’re truly ready. Read each entry to learn about each situation, the cost breakdown, and some tips on how to save money on all of these expenses.,
